Say hello to the Coding Troops!

Welcome Coding Troops

Howdy trooper and welcome to my humble blog! I know what you are thinking.

Another tech blog? Not again!

Wait, there’s a catch! How does “well structured articles about mobile development that are bundled in a clean and distraction free blog” sound to you? But how about not seeing any ads that might interrupt your reading? If that’s still not good enough for you, let’s try to elaborate.

This blog will be the place for high quality Android and iOS technical articles that will vary from jumping head first into starter tutorials in mobile development, going into details and explaining various libraries and tools, to even doing some awesome projects together in domains like voice and text processing, augmented reality etc.

Anyway, I should warn you that sometimes I might also end up writing non-technical articles that still resonate with the programming hurdles that developers face everyday. Therefore, I have come up with the following tag distinction that will help you getting a quick overview of the post genres:

  • General – are you in a mood for a Sunday afternoon read? Then these posts should suit you perfectly as they are non-technical and usually present different programming ideas and overviews but without going neck deep into code.
  • Technical – now these posts usually have code involved and require a bit of coding on your side as well, but hey, that’s the best way to learn!

Are these articles really for you?

You bet they are! I even have a meter for this type of question. You will notice that all technical articles will be labelled with one of the following ranking tags:

  • Beginner – you’re a promising tech guy with high hopes and shiny shoes that is well suited for beginner articles.
  • Intermediate – you’re a smart dude with some development experience so you should be able to go through intermediate articles as well.
  • Advanced– you’re probably already a pro so you should be able to wrap up advanced articles in no time.

Are you a tech savvy that wishes to pursue a mobile developer career? Then probably you’re a Troops Sergeant and that should be enough to get you started with each of the beginner articles. With a bit of practice you will be able to move up the scale.

Are you a mobile developer already? Perfect, then you most probably are a Troops Captain and you should be able to understand without any issue all the articles through the beginner and intermediate levels. The articles should entertain you like a good movie with a fine wine alongside!

Are you some kind of mid or senior level mobile developer? How does mutual learning sound to you? Just kidding, I surely consider you a Troops General as you should be able to breeze through all the articles, especially the advanced ones! But hey, if you’re wondering – there’s no secret – I am not some mobile coding Guru either, I keep on learning, just like you!

Now, I will be honest and say that the difficulty will vary depending on the subject and usually there will pre-requisites, but you should always have in mind that everything you will be reading shall be put in simple terms!

If you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough.

Alright, If you are hooked, I can’t wait to show you my articles!

As this blog will start with Android articles in which I feel most comfortable at writing, jump into the Android category and let’s see if there’s anything useful for you there!

But hey, If you’re still here, let me tell you the big news! There are extras to this intro! Let’s head over to them.

Who is doing this and why?

My name is Catalin and I’ve been developing mobile apps for some time now, mainly focusing on Android. If there is one thing that I have to share my appreciation towards to, it’s the internet. I was able to learn everything from scratch, without mentors, any paid classes or courses. This was possible because of the vast resources posted by others that indirectly or not helped me a into getting several Android developers jobs.

Therefore, I want to pay this awesome invisible community something back, and this blog is how I would like to do it. Oh and I also love to write.

How come this blog has no ads?

Well, it’s because I don’t cash out anything on this blog. At least not for now. I won’t deny that putting the effort of writing various articles, maintaining and paying for blog hosting services is easy or cheap, therefore if you find my posts helpful in any way and you feel generous, you can buy me a coffee via the donation button on the footer. And even if you don’t, that’s alright, I’m just thankful to have you here!

That’s it, let’s wrap things up before this ends up being a long and boring blog intro. Hope to see you around, trooper!
